Gotta get out of the city so caught a bus early in the am and headed
up a beautiful road through many beautiful towns, past wonderful scenery
and hills and sheep and cows. Hit the tourist town of Paihia and then
gotta catch a ferry to Russell. Russell is a very historic town and the
first place that white settlers came to.
Pictured to your right: clockwise:
- me on a hill overlooking auckland downtown
- the bus passed these two girls on the way up the coast they were running.
They ran into the rest stop and told me they had started running the
length of New Zealand in November and had two weeks to go to hit the
northern tip. This was their breakfast break
- the next photo is overlooking the downtown of Paihia
- this is the ferry trip over to Russell
- this shot is another one overlooking the Bay of Islands and is taken
from a hill in Paihai
Im going to spend 3 days in Russell catching up with work.
