Auckland feels a little funkier than Vancouver. The air has that heavier, tropical feel with more smells. The downtown has a nice blend of old colonial architecture and new skyscrapers.

    Pictured to your right: clockwise:

    • me on the docks. In the distance is the old ferry terminal.
    • tall ship
    • something celebrating the americas cup. That might be the new zealand ship that won, hoisted up for all to see the high tech 'wings'
    • the Tepid Baths is a neat outdoor swimming pool right on the docks. Lots of swimmers
    • two girls in the city square with pigeons climbing all over them
    • the big sky needle type building - called SkyCity

I think it's time to get out of the city and head north.
