  • I was going to go to Napier but they were having the big annual wine and music festival and I didnt want to run into trouble finding accomodation. So I just skipped down the coast to Ohope Beach. I have left the Bay of Plenty and am now in the East Cape area.

The waves never stop rolling into Ohope Beach.

I am staying with Pat and Brian, ex farmers, now retired and owners of a beautiful B&B in Ohope.

I have finally found out why there are two buttons on the top of the toilets here: one is a full-flush and the other is a half-flush.

For those that have been asking - it flushes clockwise...because we are all upsidedown here...

    Pictured to your right: clockwise:

    • Ohope Beach waves rolling in
    • the town of Ohope
    • Saturday morning market sells everything from crafts and foods to fruits and veggies
    • a New Zealand toilet with the two flush buttons on top - the left one is the half flush and the right one is the full flush.
