  • The town of Katikati has murals on many of the buildings depicting it's history. Onefamily even has had a mural painted on their home of their own heritage. This included a tall ship and family photo and more.

When the bottom fell out of the Kiwi fruit market in New Zealand because they were grown in California and South America... KatiKati decided it would paint murals depicting New Zealand's history in order to attract tourists. These murals are very beautiful and historically accurate. I should have got more photos.

    Pictured to your right: clockwise:

    • a mural of a particular historical person - all murals have to be historically accurate
    • me sitting on a bench reading with a bronze scrulpture
    • the is a photo of Judy and Dave standing in front of a hugt Pahutakawa tree in Ethanrae
    • there are 3 schools all together in town - the junior, intermediate and high school. This is a photo of school getting out. Judging by the number of kids, this farming community of Katikati is alive and well
